As Day follows Night

Last Friday evening we gathered our rugs, red wine, cheese and crackers and our lovely friends and headed to The Quarry Amphitheatre in Floreat to be dazzled by the gorgeous Sarah Blasko. Blown away is all I can say! The venue is simply amazing!!! I was surprised this was the first time I had been there and I've lived in Perth for 26 years and now I think its one of the best Perth music venues we got!

It might have also had something to do with how brilliant Sarah Blasko is live! This was seriously the best venue for her too! She is one crazy-lady with her kooky dance moves and interactive costumes. See that dress up there she undid the shoulders and out popped these insane rainbow structures. We just heart her!
We finished off the night by retiring to the bar on the upper lawn for some cider and wine which looked over the city skyline...oh we heart you too, Perth!

Oops it was lame!

Hilarious! Kristy scored us free tickets to Britney Spears last night so we donned on some lippy and joined the other 18000 fans excited about singing along to some gold! So disappointed it was more sad than bad....no large TV screens, seriously lame sound (yes she mimed!) and Brit looked pretty rough-due to hooker dancing and bad hair-do (exactly like you see when you read the trashmags... high messy ponytail). Our suggestion was perhaps it needed some more razzle-dazzle to distract everyone from the fact Britney aint what she used to be....

Anyways we finished the night with cocktails at the 'Spice Lounge' which was the super cheese we were after and the highlight was the awesome piano dude who sang Phil Collins...funnily he more entertaining than Brit! Good times!

Colour me happy

On Wednesday we had the launch of Colour Me! Two lovely ladies from Curtin University Fashion Merchandising transformed our window into a lala orange dreamscape! Super duper cute! Come check it out if you're in the hood and collect your colouring in pencil!

Date Night

We stumbled across this post the other day on Icing's blog. Super cute! I love the idea of an unusual date. Sometimes it's so fun to do something that you wouldn't ever do and what is better than doing that with a someone you are crushing on!

My favourite were "The Collaborative Art Date", "Write a letter to each other and post it" and "Be Tourists for the Day"! These are such super-duper ideas! Ahhhh love...its a nice feeling.

Saturday is date night yeah? My lovely boyf and I are jam-packing our date-night with art and exhibitions! We are off to Over Growth 2 at Last Chance Studios and then popping by BOOM at Spectrum. I'm not sure how romantical it will be as there are a group of us going...but
it'll be fun!

Edge-Ucate

Thursday night saw Kitty, me and bunch of our lovely friends trek to the glorious streets of Fremantle to check out the Fremantle: On the Edge project. Curtin Uni students from fashion, jewellery, design and architecture design windows, installations and public art around Fremantle city. We got a map and had to follow it around viewing it all. It was kind of like Windows on William, kinda, but not. We ended up at Clancy's Fish Pub where our lovely friend Yolanda Stapleton had curated a series of graphic images which were projected onto the old Woolstores building (see above!) It was my fave part of the night. Gin, chips in a cone and watching the super-great projections.
I have decided to stay in Perth this weekend. I planned to get crafty today but its already 2:30pm and nothing has been done. ha ha. Stay tuned it might happen tomorrow. Maybe.

I missed you, lots!

Hallelujah! We have been without Internet and it was killing me. No, really....I almost died without my daily in take of blogs, online magazine and general snooping! So everything is back to normal and now we have new super-fast Internet and its soooo comforting!

So much has happened! How was everyones Mother's Day?! I hope you spoiled your Mum rotten or you got spoilt yourself if you are lucky to be a mama! I had a delightful Mother's Day weekend! I spent Saturday learning how to decorate cupcakes (it was much harder than I thought it would be...) with my lovely boyfriends mum. I promise to post up my efforts! Then on Sunday I had a lovely yum cha brunch with my gorgeous mum and showered her with gifts from the shop. I gave my mum that Able and Game card...cute!

Last Friday we also had Window on Williams (which is still running at the moment!) For those who don't live in Perth here's the drill. This is our third event and you grab yourself a map from www.onwilliam.com.au/wow or from the shops along William St and visit all the stops on the map and collect your limited edition print by a Perth artist which also features a delicious recipe by a local musician. Its loads of fun and we tested out our recipe and made a delicious Pumpkin Pie! Yum! Thats a picture of the card you can collect from Lala Orange by artist Kate MacFarlene.

And lastly, we are soooo excited about this. Oh Mr. Nick Cave how we heart you!
