heaven on earth

Andrew M (sans sequins...no pics yet!)

The delightful Kelly Cutrone

As you may have noticed I enjoy my share of reality TV (think Rachel Zoe Project, The Hills, The City, Project Runway!) So when I heard that Kelly Cutrone (Whitney & Laurens boss at People's Revolution) I couldn't wait to check it. I love Kelly, she is straight up, swears like a sailor but is also really hilarious!

Her new show is called 'Kell on Earth' and its awesome! I am also now in love with her assistant Andrew M who is a long-haird goth boy who likes to wear sequins. Its a winner by my books! You should check it out!

P.S: When you watch it...OMG I can't believe Robyn is wearing track-pants and a head scarf when she meets designer David Delfin!

I heart Marc

So I have been watching a bunch on fashion related movies over the last couple of days and its been inspiring I must say! I watched the 1996 documentary Catwalk which follows around model Christy Turlington. It was light-hearted and fun to see all the young supermodels and designers! I am in love with designer Isaac Mizrahi- so funny! I liked this doco but didn't love it!

However today I finished watching the documentary Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton which I LOVED! Apparently he never lets anyone ever film him so this was quite interesting and candid. He is also soooo super cute and easy on the eye! He is so young, so New York and so super cool! If you haven't seen this you should!

Next on my list is Pret-a-Porter which I haven't seen for years! If you have a must-see fashion film let me know!!!

Gracious Me

We went and saw "The September Issue" yesterday and by far the star of the film was Grace Coddington, creative director at Vogue. She well and truely stole Anna Wintours thunder and her talent is pretty inspiring.

Woolly Weather

On this cold wet day I would love to wear the entire Missoni collection to keep warm!

XOXO

So here at Lala Orange we are BIG, HUGE, MEGA fans of Gossip Girl. After a really long, long, long break Gossip Girl is back on! (oh by the way we watch it online-super addictive!) Well this weeks episode was great and left me hanging for more and there were so many questions to be answered and left me pondering why I love this show so much!

How did Jenny Humphrey make all those costumes by herself? Isn't she like 15? I know she is worked for Eleanor Waldorf but Serena and Blair looked like they were wearing couture.. seriously! I really do love the fashion on GG-bows, knee socks, hats and glove-somethings just won't work in this Australian climate, shame.

Are Blair and Chuck the new 'Marisa and Ryan' or 'Rachel and Ross'? Will they get together? Will she take him back? I am confused but I want to know...now...I almost shouted 'What about Chuck?' at the computer screen when Blair got all cozy with slimeball Carter.

Vanessa is annoying but I liked her bag! I think Vanessa is really irritating and I think her and Nate are so wrong together and he should leave Vanessa for Jenny. Then Vanessa can leave the show and we can get a new character. But last night I give Vanessa props for that neon yellow clutch...hot! ( I couldn't find a picture-sorry...)

I kinda want Georgina Sparks to come back! I quite liked that story line, it was exciting and super bitchy. Serena is cooler when she is mess and kinda boring/bimbo-like when she is crushing on her gay director.

Is it bad I have a crush and son/father team Dan and Rufus? No need to answer this...

Who would play you?

I was watching One Tree Hill the other day (hey, no judgement!) and Lucas was casting all his friends in the movie he making of their lifes (oh if you haven't wathced this season its like 5 years in the future and Lucas is engaged to Peyton and Peyton is with child and Lucas is like a famous author and his book is being made into a movie! hahaha) This episode reminded me of how Kitty and I used to play this game when we were bored..."If someone was going to play you in a movie who would they cast?" Obiviously they can be hotter than you actually are but should probably have the same style, hair or vibe as you.
  1. If I was casting Kitty in a movie I would pick Michelle Williams or maybe Chloe Sevigny (but I think Chloe is little old now...) so maybe that french girl in that In Bruges/Harry Potter movie Clemence Posey. Kitty is pretty stylish and Michelle Williams could totally pull this off. She could be all sassy and New York chic. Yep I am feeling that!
  2. If I was going to pick someone for Mama Brite I would cast Sharon Stone or maybe Glen Close if Sharon was busy. I think Sharon Stone is way hot and Mama Brite is one foxy lady so thats pretty obvious.
  3. If I was going to pick someone for myself I it would be a toss up Zooey Deschanel or maybe Anne Hathaway. Remember they can be cooler and hotter than the real you! I think Zooey is kinda kooky and I wish my hair was cute like hers but I think Anne Hathaway is probably more me, she's a little more geekier and I really liked her in Devils Wears Prada
Who would play you?
P.S Some other games Kitty and I play is"If you were a dog what breed are you?" I think Kitty said I was a Black Labrador and I think Kitty would be one of those silky long haired french dogs I think they are called Afghans and our friend P.dot is a silky terrier- tee hee!

Yours till the Butter Flies!

Tibi
Diane Von Furstenburg

Collette Dinnigan

Badgley Mischka

I went to lunch with some friends today and as I was standing at the traffic lights waiting for the green man and some 'cool' kids crossed the road and this cute 'Mary-Kate Olsen' look-a-like was wearing this outrageous butterfly printed blouse and I thought to myself- Oh Kitty was SO right!

I'll explain...we were discussing what will be in this season and Kitty was reassuring me that butterfly prints were back in and I gave her the look of doubt (which I probably shouldn't have since she has been spot on with both the 'Tie-Dye' and the 'Sequin' trends!) Well, I eat my words they are totally back and I think I am going to go home and hunt for my old red muumuu which features a huge yellow butterfly! Gosh, I loved that dress....like when I was 16 years old and was channeling a Woodstock free-loving hippy! Apparently (according to some fashion trend website I was looking at) butterfly symbolizes love, transformation, beauty, hope, resurrection, elegance, and joy. The Star was the last year motive (really? I don't think I own anything with a star on it!) and in 2009, butterfly brings the new hope to fashion lines. Ha! What do you think? Obviously designers are loving it...maybe I will come around!
