Frightening Fashion

Loving this shoot that Tim Burton did for Harper's Bazaar with photographer Tim Walker! My favourite is the rabbit ears one cause there is something so creepy in its simplicity.

Kate V Portia

Is Portia Freeman the new Kate Moss? Personally I don't think so, she may be dating Pete Doherty but I think that's where the similarities end. Although I do quite enjoy her style!

master cravat

So like most of Australia I am Master Chef mad. I am intrigued and impressed with the dishes created by the amateur chefs and most of all I am loving Matt Prestons fashion style! He is such a dude and he totally rocks the cravat! I'd like him to take me out on a dinner date- it would be unreal. He would be such a gentleman I thinks!

P.S Go Poh! Not only is she totally cute she is talented and take risks!

Bow-itful

How friggin' cute is this hat/bow creation made from an old vintage felt hat?! The always-clever Emmerson Merrick from An Apple a Day made it herself.

I admit I'm kinda over bows, I mean I still think they are super cute but I personally feel a little twee when I try to wear one and never quite make it out the door with one on. I guess it just reminds me of my school days (blazers, straw hats, emblems, green bows, and nurse-like uniforms!) and I'm afraid it was quite some years ago...

I think if I was 17 again at this very point of time a bow would be a staple in my daily styling with the likes of Blair Waldorf and Lauren Conrad sporting the never-dying trend weekly on their respective shows- the 17-year-old me would be a diehard fan. I was reading some interview with Leighton Meester and she said that wearing a bow (when she is playing Blair) is essential as it's like wearing a crown. Interesting.

I think this mainstream trend is perhaps on the way out (maybe its already passed) but I think it may always be there for us vintage lovers but not necessarily on our heads I think more comfortably tied at our necks, waists, cuffs or feet! But if I was going to don a bow on my head it would be this one!

Confessions of a Disappointment...

So I already knew this film was going to be letdown but a small part of me hoped everyone was wrong and I would be as smitten as I was when I read the book! Alas, they were right... I think the biggest problem was casting Isla Fisher as Rebecca- big mistake! I didn't warm to her at all and I didn't really lust after anything she bought-though that green scarf was quite lovely I guess! I think her housemate Suze was way more interesting in my opinion- Krysten Ritter she is super and I enjoyed her style the most! I wanted to see more of her and less of Isla. Have you seen it? What did you think?
P.S: I also went and saw 'The Boat that Rocked' and LOVED it-amazing 60's fashion-sigh...

Leave your Hat on....

As we bid farewell to daylight saving I have found that by 6:45pm its dark, kinda chilly and I find myself snuggling up in a woolen cardy! I must say, its also quite refreshing- by the end of summer I seem to be looking forward to playing board games by the heater, watching movies while its pouring down with rain and of course winter clothes-yay! Looks like we'll be donning a beret this winter just like Rachel, Nicole and Blair! We just got some cute-as-pie beanies, scarves and mittens in the store by Aussie label SD so hopefully the season will change and we can wear our winter warmers soon!

P.S How cute is Harlow-awww!

POM-egranate

So I have discovered my new fave designer inspiration for Winter! And I am thinking some DIY and craft days are going to have to be a must! I was scrolling though some pics on Style.com and discovered Ashish a UK label run by designer Ashish Gupta and boy does he love colour, fun and all things printed! I really like pom-poms and we have ordered these really great scarves for winter which are plaited with pom-poms on the ends-so cute and can't wait till its cold and chilly and time to get all rugged up! I really LOVE that pom jumper super fun!

For one of our windows a few months ago, Kitty made all these pom-poms out of old vintage fabric and hung them in the window! They were so cute and once again she is spot on with the trend thing again!
