Florence & the Machine

Antony & the Johnsons

Kristy & I went and saw Antony & the Johnsons at the Perth Concert Hall last night as part of PIAF...what can I say...it was one of the most beautiful concerts I has ever been too. Firstly we had like the worlds BEST seats (centre, 3 rows from the stage!!!) We could see every emotion on Antony's face and it was superb! He is the most amazing creature who is hilarious and sings like an angel! Blew me away! If you are lucky to be going tonight- have fun!

Tonight we are off the the Laneway Festival- yay! I am SO looking forward to seeing Florence & the Machine. It seems since her gig in Melbourne people have been falling completely smitten with her! I can't wait! I am also hanging out to see Mumford & Sons, but I am guessing most of the people who are going have them high on their must-see list! A weekend filled with glorious tunes- its the best!

Raw Appeal

This film clip for the Girls - Lust for Life by Aaron Brown is a touch of Harmony Korine films of the 90's, with a bit of 70's porn thrown in for good measure and topped off with a touch of Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun - SJP styles!

A Christmas Duel!

As you all know I am Christmas mad! (Even though my 'new modern' Christmas tree is looking like twigs in a vase...I did find a cute felt tree from Freedom though!) I was driving to work today and I heard this on the radio and it made my day!

Cyndi Lauper + The Hives + Christmas = FRIGGIN' SUPER!

P.S: Yes, pictures of my sad tree coming...must work on it though!

Crazy In Love

Pretty excited about this one!! Cat Power is touring with the Delta Dirty Blues who feature Jim White (Dirty Three) and Judah Bauer (Blues Explosion) The last time I saw her play she was pretty loose so it should be an interesting gig!

And You Will Go To Mykonos

I know I'm a bit behind the times but I just bought the Fleet Foxes EP and think that is so much better than their album. I am now totally addicted to Mykonos and the film clip is amazing!

Woe Mercy

I have just found my new favourite driving song, "Lay Everything on Me" by Oh Mercy. These cute as a button Melbourne lads have some talent, you should all have a little listen. And I love the album name "Privileged Woes" I think most of us have a lot of them!

Baby You Can Drive My Car

I have recently purchased myself a brand spanking new car, very she she la la in this economy I know! Anyway to whittle away those peak hour traffic rides I have been listening to one album in particular that is stopping me from getting too much road rage. Florence and The Machine, this is my favourite song. xoxo Kitty

you really gotta hold on me

So we have developed an unhealthy obsession with Zooey Deschanel and M. Wards duo She & Him. Kitty wants to marry M.Ward and I want to be Zooey! Their album is on constant rotation in the shop and I am still not sick of it so it must be love! How amazing is she live?!

Kitty found this super-cute clip filmed by two girls "Olivia K + Mary C" dancing to Lykke Li sweet song, I can't help wishing I was twirling in a vintage frock! They haven't made any others but I think they should!

I still love Roisin Murphy's clip "You know me better" it came out last year but it made me want to embrace the ruffle corsage and tulle hats. I actually remember reading that you can make them out of those fluffy bath sponges. I should find that magazine and maybe do a DIY project! Happy weekend! xxx

Put your hand on your heart....

We hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day yesterday and got a kiss or a cuddle from someone special! We had another reason to celebrate yesterday it was Kitty Brites birthday so we popped down to Beck's Music Box to see Jose Gonzalez play. It was such a hot night, no breeze and really humid so our vintage outfits and our newly cut fringes stuck to our skin but we drank lots of gin and beer so everything was okay!

He was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. His version of Kylie Minogue's Put you Hand on your Heart was delightful! Kitty and I both decided we wouldn't mind having the job of the girl in Jose back up band she sat there and shook maraca and looked cute. We had a top night the only bummer was the constant stench of seafood in the still air which was coming from the food tent which we all decided was not so romantical.

P.S: Jose looked way cuter on stage maybe he should keep his shirt on but I thought it was an appropriate Valentine delight!
